Is rafting safe? Rafting is an inherently dangerous sport and there is the potential for injury. All participants are required to go through a trip talk where the guide will review safety procedures and address any concerns.
Will we have to sign a waiver? Do you need to be 18 to sign the waiver? Yes, participants in any activity at the USNWC will have to sign an assumption of risk waiver and release agreement. Participants under the age of 18 will require a parent or legal guardian to sign the waiver. Our waiver can be found on the website should a parent or legal guardian choose to sign the waiver for a minor prior to the trip.
What are the guide’s credentials? All guides are 18 years of age or older, CPR and first aid certified and have completed guide school.
Are there lifeguards? Yes, there are river guards along the bank.
What if I have a medical condition? Be sure to advise your guide of any medical conditions, physical disabilities or allergies that may require special treatment. Please seek medical advice from your doctor if you are uncertain whether you should raft with a particular health condition.
